A Dubai-based influencer, Mira Dorenbosch, has shared her experience of waking to find a masked intruder in her Bali villa. Dorenbosch and her husband, Jaimy, were reportedly in their villa early Sunday morning when the incident occurred.

Dorenbosch recounted on Instagram that her husband initially mistook the intruder for a dog when he woke around 5 a.m. He then realized it was a man dressed entirely in black, wearing a balaclava, standing near their bed. Dorenbosch stated she also woke up during the encounter.

The alleged intruder reportedly began threatening the couple and specifically asked for her husband’s Rolex watch. Dorenbosch noted that her husband was not wearing the watch at the time, and it was not present in the room, making the demand seem unusually specific. She expressed concern about how the intruder knew about their valuables and accessed their private villa, suggesting the incident did not feel random.

The man ultimately fled the villa with her husband’s Hermes bag. The couple, originally from the Netherlands and owners of a luxury real estate and holiday property rental business in Marbella, Spain, have filed a police report with local authorities in Bali. Dorenbosch urged other travelers to exercise caution while in Bali.
