Two British men were removed from a Ryanair flight to Alicante by Guardia Civil officers after crew reported unruly behaviour during the journey, footage filmed by passengers shows.
The Leeds Bradford–Alicante service, a two-and-a-half-hour flight, landed at 7:22 p.m. local time on Thursday, where Spanish police were waiting on the tarmac and boarded the aircraft. Video circulating online shows officers moving down the cabin as passengers shout and one of the men wrestles with an officer while being led off the plane.
In the footage, other travellers can be heard urging the police to subdue the man, with voices shouting phrases including "knock him out" and "Get off the f***ing plane." One passenger is heard gasping as the man appears to put his arms around an officer's neck. Several passengers on board described the two men as part of a stag party and said they had appeared intoxicated while waiting to board at Leeds Bradford Airport.
Cabin crew alerted authorities during the flight, passengers said, prompting the decision to have officers meet the aircraft on arrival. The Guardia Civil boarded on the ground and escorted the men from the aircraft; video shows at least one of the men resisting as officers led him down the aisle.
Airlines routinely coordinate with ground authorities when a passenger's conduct is deemed a threat to safety or cabin order. Disruptive behaviour on aircraft in Spain can be investigated by local authorities and may lead to administrative penalties or criminal charges, depending on the circumstances, under Spanish aviation and public-order regulations.
No official statement from Ryanair or the Guardia Civil related to the incident was immediately available in the footage and passenger accounts. Media reports that published the video said the events unfolded after crew called for back‑up during the flight.
Passengers on board expressed shock and frustration in the moments after the removal. One passenger can be heard using profane language directed at the pair as they were escorted away. Travel disruptions were not reported beyond the removal of the two men, and the flight proceeded after the incident.
Authorities often review such incidents in coordination with airline and airport security to determine whether further action is warranted. The removal of disruptive passengers underscores continued enforcement of safety protocols on commercial flights as airlines and law-enforcement agencies respond to reports of intoxication and disorderly behaviour in the cabin.
