Victoria Heuermann, 30, was dismissed from jury duty in a Nassau County, New York, child molestation trial after it was revealed she is the daughter of Gilgo Beach mass murderer Rex Heuermann. The judge excused her due to concerns she would be a distraction.

Heuermann's father, Rex Heuermann, pleaded guilty in April to the murders of seven women and admitted to an eighth. He lured sex workers to his home, strangled them, and disposed of their bodies. Victoria Heuermann had attended court proceedings for her father and appeared in a documentary about him.

Victoria requested a sidebar during jury selection when asked about her ability to remain impartial. Although her attorney stated she was willing to serve, the defense, prosecution, and judge ultimately decided to discharge her. Her attorney noted that Victoria was honest about her potential impartiality, despite nervousness about returning to a courtroom after her father's trial.

Heuermann confessed to the murders of Sandra Costilla, Valerie Mack, Jessica Taylor, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello. He also admitted to the 1996 murder of Karen Vergata. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the killings, which occurred over a 17-year period between 1993 and 2010. His crimes were discovered when his dumping ground was found in 2010, but he was not arrested until 2023.
