Russell Brand was reportedly "petrified" during his first night in a UK prison after being convicted of rape, according to The Sun.

Upon arrival, the comedian underwent a "humiliating" strip search before being issued standard prison attire: gray jogging bottoms, T-shirts, sweatshirts, and underwear. He was also provided with a "first-night pack" containing toiletries, a toothbrush, toothpaste, a bible, and a vape pack. His initial prison meal was described as an "inedible" microwave option.

Brand, 51, was reportedly allowed a single three-minute phone call, which required prison approval. Prison staff also conducted a mental health evaluation to assess his state of mind and ensure he posed no danger to himself.

He is currently being monitored around the clock and is prohibited from interacting with other inmates, a source told The Sun. Brand is expected to be moved to a different facility after his sentencing on Monday.

Brand was found guilty on Thursday of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault following a four-week trial at Southwark Crown Court in London. He was acquitted of two additional rape charges and one charge of attempted indecent assault. Justice Joel Bennathan informed Brand that he would receive a "significant" prison sentence. Brand was denied bail and left the court in a police van.

The Metropolitan Police have stated that Brand is under investigation for two additional rape accusations. One of these accusers was reportedly 16 years old at the time of her alleged relationship with a 30-year-old Brand. Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy has characterized Brand as a "danger to women."

In 2023, Brand was formally charged with rape and sexual assault for alleged incidents occurring between 1999 and 2005. He pleaded not guilty to all charges, maintaining that his sexual encounters were consensual. During a police interview in 2023, Brand admitted to a "very promiscuous life" and having had "countless sexual encounters," but denied any non-consensual activity, calling the allegations "defamatory and fictitious."
