Gary Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, has been charged with historic sexual offenses that allegedly occurred between 1978 and 1981, the Metropolitan Police announced. The charges include one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 13 and three counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14.
There is one alleged victim in the case. The offenses are said to have taken place at a residential address in Kensington. The allegations were first reported to the Metropolitan Police on January 9, 2025, and an investigation was launched.
Gadd was interviewed in relation to the investigation on July 22, 2025. The alleged victim is currently being supported by specialist officers. Gadd is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on August 5.
