Police were called to the Eden Hotel Wolff near Munich's main railway station around 9:40 a.m. after a 13-year-old boy was found dead. A woman, believed to be the boy's mother, was discovered seriously injured at the scene and taken to the hospital. German newspaper Bild has reported that investigators suspect the woman killed her son before attempting to take her own life, but authorities have not confirmed these details.

A police spokesperson declined to confirm or deny the reported murder-suicide theory to the German Press Agency. Detectives have launched a homicide investigation into the circumstances surrounding the discovery. Forensic specialists and investigators were present at the hotel, and authorities are reportedly reviewing CCTV footage. A hotel employee was receiving support from a crisis intervention team.

The four-star Eden Hotel Wolff, founded in 1890, is located opposite Munich Central Station. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the boy's exact cause of death. Investigations are ongoing.
