A 34-year-old British woman was found stabbed to death in a hotel corridor in Albufeira, Portugal, on Tuesday evening. Authorities have arrested her partner, also 34, on suspicion of homicide.

The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. at the family-friendly Alfagar Alto Da Colina aparthotel resort. Police responded to the scene and found the woman with multiple stab wounds. Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead at the location. The suspect was reportedly covered in blood when apprehended by officers.

The victim and her partner were staying at the resort with a child, who is believed to have witnessed the attack and has since been placed in temporary care. Images from the scene showed dried blood on a corridor window.

The Policia Judiciaria has taken over the investigation. The suspect remains in custody and is expected to appear before a judge for a closed-court hearing.

The Alfagar Alto Da Colina is described on its website as an aparthotel resort offering 174 apartments and amenities such as swimming pools, sports facilities, and playgrounds, catering to families and couples.

This incident follows another event in Albufeira last Tuesday, where a driver was arrested after allegedly hitting several pedestrians while attempting to evade police.
