A 56-year-old man from Moray has gone missing in Rome on the first night of his holiday, his fiancée has stated. Colin Scott had just arrived in the Italian capital with his partner, Anabella Mcallister, when he disappeared.

Scott reportedly wandered up a side street near the Pantheon at approximately 22:00 on Friday evening. Mcallister posted on social media that Scott had become unsteady due to medication and the heat. She added that he did not have his phone or wallet with him and may have forgotten the name of their hotel.

"He was in a bit of an unsteady state due to medication and heat," Mcallister wrote. She explained that as she stopped to take a photograph, her fiancé went up a side street, and by the time she had followed him, he had vanished.

"What was meant to be a dream holiday has turned into a nightmare," she said.

The Foreign Office confirmed it is supporting the family of a British man missing in Italy and is in contact with local authorities. BBC Scotland News has contacted Italy's state police for comment.
