A British man residing in Benidorm has issued a warning to families, stating the popular Spanish holiday destination is no longer a safe environment for children. Harry Poulton, 25, who moved to the resort from Brighton, cited incidents of public indecency and widespread public intoxication as reasons for his caution.

Poulton shared his concerns in a series of social media clips, with one video amassing over 118,000 views. He described witnessing a woman urinating and defecating on the street in broad daylight, an incident he attributes to excessive alcohol consumption from the previous night. He stated, "It's nine [...] in the morning, I'm walking down the streets of Benidorm and casually minding my own business, [there's] a lady who pulls her pants down. [She's] probably drunk from last night and just starts doing a poo on the side of the street."

He further elaborated that while he did not film the incident to protect the woman's privacy, he felt compelled to highlight what he perceives as a decline in the resort's suitability for families. "There is a thing called a toilet. It used to be [safe for kids] but not at the moment," Poulton said. "I just don't think Benidorm is good for kids anymore. Especially the New Town; the Old Town is a little bit different."

Poulton also reported observing a man scantily clad in broad daylight. He questioned the appropriateness of such scenes for young visitors, stating, "I wouldn't want my kid walking around seeing that – absolutely not. I understand people are coming out for a good time, but maybe think about your outfit choices."

According to Poulton, Benidorm has changed significantly in recent years, attracting a broader demographic that includes more stag and hen parties. He believes this shift contributes to the perception that certain areas are less family-friendly. He specifically advised tourists to avoid areas known as The Yellow Brick Road, Pueblo Alley, and Mugger's Alley.

Despite his warnings about specific parts of the resort, Poulton acknowledged that other areas remain suitable for children. He recommended the Old Town, the local aqua park, the zoo, and the Terra Mítica theme park as positive alternatives within the Benidorm region.
