Blenheim Palace has a new heir. Orlando Charles Godolphin, the first son of George Spencer-Churchill, the Marquess of Blandford, and his wife Camilla, was born recently. His arrival marks a significant moment for the historic estate, as he is now in line to inherit Blenheim Palace and its 12,000-acre Oxfordshire estate, ahead of his two elder sisters.

George Spencer-Churchill, 34, and Camilla, 39, delayed announcing Orlando's birth until this past weekend, approximately 14 weeks after his arrival. Orlando is styled as the Earl of Sunderland. His father, George, is the son of James Spencer-Churchill, the 12th Duke of Marlborough. The future Duke is an aviation broker and an alumnus of Harrow School. He is expected to inherit an estimated £100 million fortune.

George Spencer-Churchill became Marquess of Blandford in 2014 following his grandfather's death. He was recognized in 2019 by Tatler magazine as one of the '10 most eligible people in the land.' His family ties are extensive, with his great-great-grandfather, the 9th Duke of Marlborough, being a first cousin of Sir Winston Churchill. The late Princess Diana was also a distant relation.

The Marquess and Marchioness of Blandford met over a decade ago while vacationing on the Isle of Wight. They married in a ceremony at Blenheim Palace in September 2018. Camilla, an interior designer, wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana gown for the occasion, paired with an heirloom Boucheron tiara that has been in the Marlborough family since 1895. The tiara was originally a wedding gift to Consuelo Vanderbilt, from her father when she married the 9th Duke of Marlborough.

While George's father publicly announced the births of his daughters, Lady Olympia, five, and Lady Leonora, two, there has been no public announcement or photograph shared of the newborn Orlando yet. George's last social media post was in September 2025.
