An 11-month-old baby is fighting for life after suffering critical head injuries, with police alleging a male relative shook the infant violently. Emergency services were called to a home in Two Rocks, a suburb north of Perth, Western Australia, last Thursday morning. The baby was found in a critical condition and was immediately transported to Joondalup Health Campus.
Following the initial medical assessment, the infant was transferred to Perth Children's Hospital, where they remain in a critical state. Authorities have charged a man in relation to the incident with a serious offense. He appeared in court on Friday and was remanded in custody.
During a court hearing on Wednesday in Perth Magistrates Court, the man was granted bail. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
