A 35-year-old man, Hamish Tait, has been accused of 329 offenses against as many as 150 children, with allegations spanning from 2009 to 2025. The alleged offenses occurred at numerous locations, including Alasan Cottage Preschool, Amata Anangu School, and various Fit Kidz Learning Centre branches.
Tait was arrested in July. He reportedly sought to keep his identity secret, citing concerns for his and his family's safety, but a judge ruled on Monday that his name could be publicly disclosed.
Police have released images of clothing items, including a two-tone t-shirt, patterned shorts, and a puffer vest with a dinosaur pattern, believed to be connected to the alleged offenses. These images are thought to have been taken at childcare centers in Putney and Rouse Hill between 2018 and 2024.
In a 2015 newsletter sent to parents at the Fit Kidz Putney center, Tait reportedly wrote about his favorite aspects of working with children. The list of alleged locations includes preschools, early education centers, neighborhood children's centers, and before and after school care services across New South Wales.
