An Australian influencer known online as 'Queen of the North' has been charged with rape and unlawful wounding. Amelia Chelsea Aguilera, a tattoo artist from Townsville, Far North Queensland, appeared in Townsville Magistrates Court on Wednesday, where her lawyer applied for bail on her behalf.

Magistrate Viviana Keegan granted Aguilera bail under the condition that she does not contact the complainant. Her case is scheduled to return to court on August 12, though her appearance is not required. Aguilera has not yet entered a plea to either charge.

It is alleged that Aguilera committed the offenses in November and December of 2023. The influencer had previously faced drug and weapons charges. Aguilera addressed her followers in a video shared on Instagram and Facebook on Tuesday, stating that she was preparing to hand herself in to police. She mentioned that officers had found "a single valium pill and a taser."

"The police want me, and today I am handing myself in," Aguilera said in the video, which was posted before her court appearance. "No hater is going to tip off the Bulletin. I'm going to be in court in the next day or two, and I'm going to be applying for bail, for whatever the f–k these new charges are man."

She told her more than 60,000 followers that she is "not going away" and believes authorities are trying to silence her. "They're trying to silence me, that's never happening, it doesn't matter," she stated. "You look at people that are hurting the innocent, people that are getting done with serious things, they're not getting the books thrown at them like I do."

Just a few days prior to these events, Aguilera announced her withdrawal from the local pageant Miss Townsville, citing "unforeseen new circumstances." She shared a message with her followers: "You can climb to the top guys, and there is gonna be people that will pray on your downfall, and they will not stop until they see you down. I'm not going anywhere, ever, what's not clocking?"

On Wednesday night, Aguilera's Instagram page, which boasted 60,000 followers, appeared to be offline.
