Two Afghan nationals are accused of raping and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old autistic girl on a busy commuter train in February, Inner London Crown Court heard. Baryalai Rahimi, 25, and Mirebadurahman Sadat, 29, allegedly followed the runaway teenager onto a London-bound train in rural Kent after spotting her at a station.
The court was told the defendants approached the girl and said, "We share everything, girls, drinks, everything." Prosecutors allege they then took turns to abuse her on the train.
Rahimi, from Southall, west London, and Sadat, from Cricklewood, northwest London, deny a total of 20 charges, including multiple counts of sexual activity with a child, rape, and assault by penetration. Both appeared in court aided by interpreters and wearing prison-issue jumpers.
Jurors were shown CCTV footage that appeared to show Rahimi sitting with the girl and touching her chest area before she was led into a toilet cubicle. Prosecutors claim Rahimi raped the girl three times in the cubicle, while Sadat allegedly assaulted her twice. DNA matching Rahimi was later found on the train toilet floor and on the girl's clothing.
After exiting the toilet, the men reportedly swapped seats, with Sadat sitting next to the girl, which the prosecutor described as "almost as if Mr Rahimi was handing over the girl to Mr Sadat." The girl had been reported missing by her family on the same day as the alleged incident. Police located her at Peterborough Station later that evening and took her home.
The trial is expected to last three weeks.
