A woman in Perth has been charged with aggravated stalking and demanding property by written threats against Greens Senator Jordon Steele-John. The woman, whose identity has not been released, is scheduled to appear in Perth Magistrates Court.
Steele-John is currently on leave from the Greens party room. He has stepped aside while the party investigates separate allegations concerning his conduct, which were raised in a letter to leader David Shoebridge. The senator has denied any wrongdoing, stating he is the victim of abuse.
The charges come as these internal party investigations proceed.
