Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of ABC's "The View," has urged Democrats to prioritize legislative action and set aside internal disputes following their recapture of majorities in both chambers of Congress in the recent midterm elections.

"A note to the Democrats, we put you in to take care of business," Goldberg stated on Wednesday. "We don’t want to know what your back-biting fighting is, we don’t want to hear it. You can kvetch at each other after you take care of the people’s business."

Democrats secured control of both the House and the Senate, an outcome that will take effect in January 2027. The show also featured an interview with Democratic Texas Sen.-elect James Talarico, who unseated a Republican incumbent.

Talarico expressed a desire to collaborate with President Donald Trump on addressing the "affordability crisis," suggesting a suspension of federal gasoline and diesel taxes as a means to provide immediate relief at the pump. He also indicated a willingness to work with Trump to fulfill the original promises of the MAGA movement, which he described as aiming to transform the government to serve those who have been overlooked.

During the discussion, "The View" co-hosts also echoed sentiments from former Vice President Kamala Harris, agreeing that Democrats should not pursue impeachment proceedings against Trump if they regain control of Congress. Co-host Sunny Hostin noted that House Speaker-designate Hakeem Jeffries has a legislative agenda focused on tax credits, immigration policy, and stock trading regulations, suggesting these would be more productive priorities than impeachment.

Co-host Ana Navarro also voiced opposition to impeachment, arguing that Democrats would face limitations in their ability to achieve legislative goals with Trump in the White House.

Nicholas Fondacaro, an associate editor at NewsBusters, criticized Goldberg's remarks, suggesting they represented the show acting as a vehicle for Democratic Party propaganda and potentially violating federal regulations regarding the use of public broadcast spectrum for electioneering.
