The Apple TV series "Pluribus," created by Vince Gilligan and starring Rhea Seehorn, has achieved significant recognition at the 78th Emmy Awards, securing multiple accolades. The show, which imagines a world where widespread happiness infects the populace, leading to a hive mind, was nominated for 18 Emmy Awards. Gilligan received his first individual Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, while Seehorn won her first for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

"Pluribus" explores themes inspired by the American motto "E pluribus unum" (Out of many, one). In the series, nearly everyone succumbs to a shared happiness hive mind, with a few individuals, like Seehorn's character Carol Sturka, remaining mysteriously immune. Sturka, a bestselling romance author struggling with personal unfulfillment and alcohol, finds herself on a mission to save others from this enforced euphoria, challenging the audience to consider the costs of utopian pursuits.

The series' success extends beyond the lead acting and writing categories. "Pluribus" also won awards for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music, Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Comedy Or Drama Series, Outstanding Picture Editing For A Drama Series, and Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Contemporary Program.

"Pluribus" is available for streaming on Apple TV. New subscribers can access the service with a seven-day free trial. After the trial, the ad-free streaming plan costs $14.99 per month. A bundle including Apple TV and Peacock is also available starting at $14.99 per month.

The cast of "Pluribus" features actors from various television series, including Rhea Seehorn as Carol Sturka, Karolina Wydra as Zosia, Carlos-Manuel Vesga as Manousos, Miriam Shor as Helen, Samba Schutte as Mr. Diabaté, and Jeff Hiller as Larry.

Prior to its Emmy success, "Pluribus" was lauded for its originality. A review noted that "in a world ripe with reboots, remakes, and spinoffs, it feels unlike anything else on television — in the best way possible." The series has also been recognized for strong performances from cast members Karolina Wydra, Carlos-Manuel Vesga, Samba Schutte, and Jeff Hiller.

Apple TV has renewed "Pluribus" for a second season, which was announced before the first season even premiered. The series has become Apple TV's most-watched drama. While a premiere date for Season 2 has not yet been set, creator Vince Gilligan has indicated that while the season's plot has been outlined and the first two episodes written, the remaining scripts are in various stages of development. Gilligan suggested that audiences may need to wait a considerable time for new episodes.
