The months-long search for Leo Lindeman, 73, and Katherine Lindeman, 74, has ended with the discovery of two bodies on a neighboring property in McDonald County, Missouri. The couple, who lived near Anderson, was last seen on September 15 and officially reported missing on September 24.

Authorities found the bodies on Sunday on a property approximately 400 to 500 yards from the Lindemans' home, McDonald County Sheriff Rob Evenson told KNWA. The couple's small white dog, Itty Bitty, remains missing.

Deputies and detectives were observed searching a private property on Beehive Lane following the discovery, according to KOAM. The circumstances surrounding the couple's deaths are currently unclear, and Sheriff Evenson described the situation as a "bit of a mystery."

Prior to the discovery, authorities had spent more than a month searching the area around the Lindemans' rural home. The sheriff's office obtained a search warrant for the residence shortly after the couple was reported missing, collecting evidence including fingerprints, electronics, and trace materials. Additional searches of surrounding properties and areas were conducted.

Family members also organized extensive searches, enlisting private drone operators and search and rescue teams with dogs. LaShawnda Lindeman, Leo's niece, noted on Facebook that these efforts covered approximately 15 acres but yielded no clues about the couple's whereabouts. Sheriff Evenson previously described the investigation as frustrating due to a lack of leads.

The Lindemans were known as private individuals, which initially made their prolonged absence less alarming to neighbors. The investigation is ongoing.
