The U.S. Department of War released declassified materials on Friday, including video footage from 2025 that appears to show an unidentified object in the skies over the Middle East. The video was captured by an electro-optical and infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform.

This release is part of the fifth installment of declassified and historical Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) files under the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE), according to a statement from Sean Parnell, assistant to the secretary of war for public affairs and chief Pentagon spokesperson. The U.S. Central Command submitted the UAP report to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO).

The website hosting the archives notes that the materials contain "unresolved cases," meaning the government has not been able to make a definitive determination on the nature of the observed phenomena.

The description of the video states that the sensor "pans to track an area of contrast from left to right across the background, keeping it generally centered within the frame." The sensor also adjusted its collection mode and magnification level multiple times during the recording.

In February, President Donald Trump publicly called for the release of government files related to UAP, UFOs, and extraterrestrial life. He stated on Truth Social that he would direct the Secretary of War and other relevant departments and agencies to begin the process of identifying and releasing such information.
