Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton and his fiancée, Jade Jones, were married at the Indianapolis Marriage License Office on Tuesday. The courthouse ceremony precedes a larger wedding celebration scheduled for August 1.
Jones shared photos of the event on Instagram, showing the couple with a small group of witnesses. She captioned the post, "It’s (courthouse) official." For the civil ceremony, Jones wore a white minidress and heels, carrying a white bouquet, while Haliburton opted for a black casual outfit.
The couple, who have been together since 2019, met as students at Iowa State University. Haliburton was a basketball player for the Cyclones, and Jones was a member of the cheerleading team. Haliburton, a two-time NBA All-Star, proposed to Jones on the Iowa State campus in July 2025.
The marriage comes weeks after the death of Jones' close friend, Makenzi Kern, who passed away on June 8 during a bachelorette trip to St. Barths. The cause of Kern's death was stated as "health complications" in her obituary. Jones paid tribute to Kern, a former Iowa State cheerleader, on Instagram, calling her "a light in this world."
Haliburton is preparing to return to the Pacers after sustaining a torn right Achilles in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals. The injury caused him to miss the entire 2025-26 NBA season. In his absence, the Pacers finished the past season with a 19-63 record.
