President Trump has indicated he would wield the veto pen extensively if Democrats gain control of both houses of Congress following Tuesday's midterm elections. In an interview on Miranda Devine's "Pod Force One" podcast, Trump stated, "I guess I'll become Mr. Veto." He expressed a determination to prevent legislative actions he opposes, saying, "I'm not going to let them ruin it."

Trump suggested a potential strategy of repeatedly vetoing legislation sent to his desk. "They'll be sending stuff up. You veto it. And eventually, after a month or two of getting all vetoed, they're just wasting [time], they come over, and you make a deal," he explained. He added that such a scenario has occurred in the past and anticipates that "at some point, we'll probably make deals."

Trump's previous use of the veto power includes 10 bills during his first term and two during his second term. The interview comes as the midterm elections approach, with control of Congress hanging in the balance.
