Three teenage girls have been arrested in connection with an acid attack that hospitalized six women in Jersey City, New Jersey. The suspects, aged 13, 14, and 15, face charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing bodily injury.

The incident occurred on June 15 when individuals on a moped allegedly hurled sulfuric acid at a group of women in a vehicle. The attack resulted in victims sustaining "skin burns and peeling," according to officials. One 21-year-old victim suffered second-degree burns to her face and scalp.

Authorities stated that the attack appeared targeted and may have originated from an earlier dispute within a larger group. All six victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The arrests were made on June 16 and 17, almost a month after the attack took place on Wilkinson Avenue. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
