A Utah man has died from injuries sustained in a shooting at an In-N-Out restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, bringing the total number of fatalities to three. Dale Shultz, 66, of Salt Lake City, died from gunshot wounds, and his wife, Reinette, remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The couple was returning home from a family reunion when they were shot on Saturday, August 1, 2026, by 24-year-old Chad Williams, according to authorities.
"Reinette is now facing many surgeries and a long period of physical and emotional recovery," a GoFundMe page created to assist with medical and funeral expenses states. "The trauma of this event has left her not only with medical bills, but also the overwhelming challenge of mourning Dale’s passing. Dale was a beloved member of the family, remembered for his kindness and the love he shared with Reinette. Their lives were changed in an instant."
Ashley Garibay, 23, an In-N-Out employee, and Christopher Claunch, 59, were also killed in the incident. The shooting concluded when two armed individuals intervened and returned fire on Williams in the restaurant's parking lot. Authorities stated that Williams died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after being fired upon by the Good Samaritans.
