FX's drama series ‘The Shards’ has adopted an unconventional release schedule that has generated confusion among its viewership. Unlike many streaming series that drop entire seasons at once or follow a consistent weekly pattern, ‘The Shards’ has presented a more erratic rollout for its episodes.

The series premiered on Wednesday, August 5, with its first two episodes released simultaneously. This was followed by the release of episodes three and four a week later. However, the fifth episode, titled “Murder on the Dancefloor,” aired on Wednesday, August 19, as a standalone release. This deviation from the initial pattern has left viewers attempting to decipher the show's release cadence.

‘The Shards’ is set to contain a total of nine episodes. New installments are scheduled to be released on Wednesdays leading up to September 9. New episodes are available at 9 PM ET on FX and Hulu.

Upcoming Episode Releases

The sixth episode, “Homecoming Part One,” is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, August 26. Notably, the seventh episode, “Homecoming Part Two,” will also be released on the same day, August 26. This means both episodes 6 and 7 will be available for streaming on Hulu at 9 PM ET.

The release schedule for the remaining episodes is as follows:

  • Episode 8, “Hamlet”: Wednesday, September 2
  • Episode 9, “Stairway to Heaven”: Wednesday, September 9
