Influencer Andrew Tate attempted to seek assistance from President Donald Trump following his arrest in Miami on new sex abuse charges, his legal team stated. The 39-year-old and his brother Tristan, 38, were apprehended by U.S. Marshals outside a convention center in Miami on Saturday, moments before Andrew Tate was scheduled to host a bare-knuckle boxing event. The arrests were made on behalf of British police.

The brothers face 38 new charges related to alleged attacks on four victims, in addition to 21 existing charges concerning alleged sexual offenses between 2010 and 2017. They could remain in custody for months while fighting extradition proceedings in U.S. courts.

Joseph McBride, a lawyer for the Tate brothers, claimed that the U.S. President would intervene to block the extradition, asserting that Trump "hates political persecution and communism." McBride characterized the extradition demand as an attempt to "kidnap Andrew and Tristan through paperwork," and described the United Kingdom as a "corrupt and fallen nation" whose authorities fear "two free men with a microphone more than it fears actual criminals walking its streets."

McBride suggested the arrest was based on "baseless" allegations and may have been authorized by a low-level Department of Justice official without leadership approval. "We are confident that once a competent judge sees the facts, and once the Department of Justice confronts this egregious abuse of its own authority, Andrew and Tristan Tate will walk free," McBride said. "America does not do Britain's political dirty work."

If the extradition is approved, the brothers would be sent to Britain to stand trial. They also face legal proceedings in Romania, where they reside, but the UK extradition request is expected to take precedence. Bedfordshire Police initially secured European arrest warrants for the pair in 2024, with the case taking years to build as detectives continue to investigate additional claims.

Andrew Tate faces seven counts of rape, three counts of facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault, and 19 offenses related to indecent images of children and extreme pornography. Tristan Tate faces charges including one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation. The brothers have previously denied all allegations.

Matt Jury, a lawyer representing four alleged victims, called for swift legal action, stating, "It is time they face justice."
