Gabriel Hostin, the 24-year-old son of "The View" co-host Sunny Hostin, has had his trespassing case dismissed after completing a court-ordered diversion program. The charge stemmed from an incident on June 16 in New Rochelle, New York, where he was arrested for trespassing on Metro-North Railroad tracks.
During his arrest, Sunny Hostin, who is also a former federal prosecutor, engaged with law enforcement officers at the scene. Bodycam footage captured her identifying herself and stating that her son, a Harvard graduate, had no prior criminal record. She reportedly continued to advocate with the Westchester County District Attorney's Office for the case to be dropped without further action.
Gabriel Hostin eventually agreed to participate in a three-hour "Fresh Start" course. According to the Westchester DA's Office, this pre-arraignment diversion program is designed for eligible first-time, low-level offenders to have their cases dismissed upon completion. He finished the course on August 20, leading prosecutors to request the dismissal of charges.
Hostin told officers at the time of his arrest that he was out for a run and had entered through an open gate, not noticing any visible trespassing signs. Officers informed him that being on the tracks was an arrestable offense and that their hands were tied.
A representative for Sunny Hostin did not respond to requests for comment. In a letter to the prosecutor shared with TMZ, Sunny Hostin stated her son was jogging and did not see signs indicating the area was off-limits.
