A subway operator sustained minor injuries Saturday night when a tree branch fell onto a northbound 4 train, striking the cab window and disrupting service in the Bronx. The incident occurred around 8:26 p.m. on the 4 train line approximately a quarter-mile south of the 161st Street/Yankee Stadium station.

About 200 passengers were on board the train at the time of the incident, but none of them were harmed. A rescue train was utilized to evacuate the passengers to the 149th Street station. Following the incident, 4 train service was suspended in both directions between 149th Street and Woodlawn to allow transit crews to clear the damage. Service has since been restored.
