Sources close to actress Shailene Woodley have expressed concern following pointed remarks made by her former fiancé, Aaron Rodgers, during a recent podcast appearance. Woodley and Rodgers, whose engagement was confirmed in February 2021, have reportedly not spoken in over two years.
"We’re questioning why a married dude is bringing up an ex he hasn’t spoken with in over two years," one source told TMZ. Woodley's friends reportedly believe she would not be comfortable with Rodgers discussing details of their past relationship. They added that Woodley harbors no ill will toward Rodgers and has never spoken negatively about him to her circle.
During an appearance on the "Not Just Football" podcast, Rodgers reflected on his engagement to Woodley. He claimed that she felt pressured into making a decision about their engagement, stating she "could have said no." Rodgers further alleged that Woodley accepted his proposal only to later tell him, "Before we get married, I got to go f–k this guy," though he did not identify the person she was referring to. He also claimed Woodley had removed her engagement ring by March 2021.
Rodgers, who reportedly married a woman identified as Brittani in the months prior to June 2025, also addressed claims from Woodley and his other ex, Danica Patrick, that he was a "monster" in their relationships. He dismissed these as "horse s–t," stating he dated two women "who nobody gives a f–k about unless they drop my name."
He further alleged that Woodley was at the "height of [her] fame" during their relationship, adding that "no one knows what they are doing" in reference to his exes, including Patrick. Rodgers suggested that his past partners gain attention from media and public interest is generated by others mentioning his name, describing himself as a "lightning rod."
Woodley, 34, and Rodgers, 42, reportedly began dating in July 2020. Their engagement was called off in February 2022, a split described at the time as "amicable." Sources close to Woodley indicated that during their relationship, Rodgers appeared to respect her value for privacy, making his public comments about their past seem "out of character."
