TV personality Scarlett Moffatt has announced the death of her grandfather, marking another loss for her family within the same week. Moffatt shared the news on Instagram on Friday, stating, "Unfortunately, more sad news for our family this week. My grandad Moffatt has sadly passed away."
She expressed gratitude for the public's support, adding, "Me, Scott and all our family really appreciate all of the love and kindness you've shown us following the loss of Janice and now my grandad. Thank you so much."
Moffatt's fiancé, Scott Dobinson's mother, Janice, died earlier in the week. Moffatt had shared an emotional tribute to Janice on Sunday, expressing her sadness that Janice would not be able to meet their second son.
Despite the personal grief, Moffatt and Dobinson are anticipating the arrival of their second child, a son. Following a recent scan, Moffatt shared, "In the middle of such a heartbreaking week, we went to see our little boy today. Seeing him wriggling away and knowing he's doing well gave us a little moment to smile when we really needed it."
Moffatt also noted their son Jude continues to bring them joy.
Moffatt and Dobinson have been in a relationship since 2018 and welcomed their son Jude in June 2023. They announced in April that they were expecting another child. Moffatt revealed in May that the baby would be a boy, expressing her desire for Jude to have a brother.
Moffatt had previously spoken about a challenging four-year fertility journey before the birth of Jude. She described her first trimester of this pregnancy as "hell" due to experiencing common pregnancy side effects, including nausea, hot and cold flushes, and migraines.
