Scarlett Moffatt has announced the death of her grandfather, marking further heartbreak for her family this week.

The television personality shared the news on Instagram on Friday, stating, "Unfortunately, more sad news for our family this week. My grandad Moffatt has sadly passed away."

Moffatt expressed gratitude for the public's support, adding, "Me, Scott and all our family really appreciate all of the love and kindness you've shown us following the loss of Janice and now my grandad. Thank you so much."

Earlier in the week, Moffatt announced the passing of her fiancé Scott Dobinson's mother, Janice. In a tribute, Moffatt shared her sorrow that Janice would not be present to meet their second son, but found solace in focusing on the positive aspects of their growing family.

"In the middle of such a heartbreaking week, we went to see our little boy today," Moffatt wrote, referring to her latest pregnancy scan. "Seeing him wriggling away and knowing he's doing well gave us a little moment to smile when we really needed it." She also noted that their son Jude continues to bring them smiles.

Moffatt and Dobinson, who have been together since 2018, are already parents to son Jude. They announced in April that they were expecting another child, and later revealed it would be a boy.

Moffatt described Janice as "the best Nanna to Jude, the kindest mother-in-law and one of the loveliest people I've ever known." She added, "I'm so upset that you won't get to meet your second grandson but I know you will be watching over us all." Moffatt praised Janice for raising "true gentlemen in both your boys."

Previously, Moffatt shared details of a challenging four-year fertility journey before welcoming Jude in June 2023. She also candidly spoke about experiencing a difficult first trimester during her current pregnancy, describing it as "hell" due to common pregnancy side effects including sickness, hot and cold flushes, and migraines.
