Sam Wood is making a last bid for freedom, fighting to keep secret court documents that detail alleged abuse, including an earlier choking incident involving his wife Snezana. Wood, who is currently in jail, has offered to undergo controversial therapy as part of his efforts to secure bail.

Court files reportedly include photographs of claimed injuries and accounts of the night Wood was charged. The judge has described the alleged earlier choking assault on his wife as "credible," despite no charges being laid at the time. Photographs of Snezana Wood's injuries from the alleged 2021 assault still exist, with one picture showing her in August 2025 with a dressing on her neck.

Wood's final bail hearing is scheduled for Friday or later this month. If granted bail, conditions would prohibit him from approaching his estranged wife or her daughter Eve, who is considered the main witness. Wood, 46, is expected to live in Tasmania with his father, Andrew, who reportedly provided the $1 million surety for his release. Andrew Wood was seen managing a restaurant in Hobart before retiring.

If the appeal judges dismiss Wood's case and uphold the initial decision, he will remain at Wolston Correctional Centre, west of Brisbane. Wood has reportedly lost some physical condition during his month-long incarceration.

If Wood is granted bail, he will face the challenge of rebuilding his life after it was shattered by his alleged actions. Bail conditions will require no contact with Snezana or the main witness, Eve. (Wood pictured above with both)
