A series of Russian strikes across Ukraine on Saturday killed at least 10 civilians and injured dozens more, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appealing to allies for more prompt weapons supplies. The attacks targeted multiple cities, including Sumy, Kyiv, Odesa, and Kharkiv, damaging civilian infrastructure and residential buildings.

In Sumy, an overnight strike killed five people and injured 30, with CCTV footage capturing the terrifying moment residents, including a mother shielding her child, dove for cover as an explosion rocked a coffee shop. Glass shattered, and people lay flat on the ground to avoid debris. Elsewhere in the Sumy region, a man died after stepping on an explosive device.

Kyiv reported that 12 people were wounded during an overnight attack involving ballistic and cruise missiles and drones. Ukrainian air defense systems managed to shoot down most targets, but not ballistic missiles, according to Zelensky. Civilian infrastructure was hit even before air raid alerts were issued in the capital. In the southern port city of Odesa, two people were killed and one wounded by a missile strike. The southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia also saw casualties, with glide bombs injuring 10 people.

Earlier on Saturday, a drone hit a civilian enterprise in the eastern city of Kharkiv, wounding seven. In the Russian-controlled Donetsk region, a drone attack on a bus stop near the Sea of Azov injured nine people, and another drone strike killed one person whose car was hit.

President Zelensky stated that Ukraine critically needs allies to fulfill arms supply agreements more quickly and completely. He specifically mentioned an agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump to grant Ukraine a license to produce its own Patriot interceptor missiles, noting that Ukraine has been critically low on munitions for these systems. Meanwhile, Ukraine's drone forces reported striking 21 fuel tanker vessels and seven other cargo and support ships in the Sea of Azov overnight, part of a broader campaign to disrupt Russian military logistics. Russian authorities confirmed one person was killed in a drone attack on vessels in Taganrog Bay. Russia has intensified its attacks on Kyiv in recent weeks, with strikes on the capital and surrounding region killing over 60 people this month alone.
