Rick Harrison, the 61-year-old star of the History Channel series "Pawn Stars," is recovering at home following emergency bypass surgery. The procedure was more extensive than initially anticipated when Harrison sought medical attention for what was expected to be a simpler operation.
A spokesperson for the Harrison family confirmed that Harrison is "resting comfortably" and expressed gratitude for the care provided by medical professionals. His wife, Agripina "Angie" Polushkin, and his children have been by his side during his recovery.
This health event follows a period of public challenges for the Harrison family. In January 2024, Harrison's son Adam died at age 39 from a fentanyl overdose. At the time, a representative for Harrison stated, "The fentanyl crisis in this country must be taken more seriously. It seems it is just flowing over the borders and nothing is being done about it. We must do better."
More recently, in March, Harrison publicly addressed his son Corey's decision to launch a GoFundMe for medical expenses related to a January motorcycle accident in Tulum, Mexico. Corey Harrison sustained multiple injuries, including 11 broken ribs, a concussion, internal bleeding, and a punctured lung. A friend of Corey's had set up the fundraising page, stating it was done with Corey's full knowledge to cover over $100,000 in medical bills.
Harrison's representative told Page Six at the time that Harrison believed he had already settled Corey's medical bills and that his adult son should manage his own finances.
"Pawn Stars" first premiered in 2009, and its 23rd season concluded in 2025. The show is scheduled to return in 2027 without Corey Harrison, according to reports. Rick Harrison has been a constant presence on the show since its inception.
