Police officers in Gosport, Hampshire, encountered an unusual situation when a corn snake slithered into their patrol car. The officers were on duty when they observed the snake moving across the road and then onto the vehicle's wheel.

One of the officers, PC Biggs, described the incident on social media, recounting the moment he parked the car and called for assistance from passers-by, Jason Gander and his daughter Kayleigh, who had experience handling reptiles. The snake, which was later nicknamed Brian, became lodged in the car's undercarriage, prompting efforts to coax it out. These attempts included offering a dead mouse and using a jack to lift the vehicle. A local garage was eventually called to provide additional mechanical support, raising the car higher to improve access.

With the enhanced access provided by the garage, Mr. Gander was able to successfully extract the non-venomous corn snake. The snake is described as having been 'very friendly'.

Authorities have requested that the snake's owner come forward. Brian is currently being cared for at a local reptile center. This incident is not the first time snakes have interacted with law enforcement; in 2017, a Florida police officer had a notable encounter with a snake in his office.
