Silicon Valley Congressman Ro Khanna, a vocal progressive who has supported a proposed state billionaire tax, has experienced substantial gains in his family's stock market investments. Financial disclosure filings indicate that his family trusts executed approximately 5,402 trades in 2025, engaging in market activity on nearly every trading day.

During 2025, the total stock trading volume for Khanna's family trusts reached up to $165.4 million, with sales amounting to as much as $70.6 million. This marks an increase from 2024, when the trading volume was $137 million and sales were under $50 million.

Khanna's investment performance has drawn comparisons to other prominent lawmakers, including Rep. Nancy Pelosi, a well-known figure in market trend discussions. The congressman saw a notable return on Nvidia stock, with his wife purchasing shares in February 2024. The investment yielded between $100,000 and $250,000, a gain of 143%, shortly before the federal CHIPS Act was enacted, which contributed to a significant rise in the company's share price.

Since entering office in 2017, Khanna's net worth has reportedly grown from an estimated range of $29 million to $78 million to between $69 million and $167 million by the end of 2025, according to data compiled by Rokhanna.Money.

Khanna has previously stated his support for a congressional ban on stock trading and asserts that neither he nor his family directly execute trades. In a newsletter, he stated, "My household’s only investments are held in a diversified trust my in-laws set up before marriage for my wife and children, managed independently by a third-party trustee."

Critics have accused Khanna of hypocrisy, pointing to his public image as an anti-wealth crusader fighting for policies like the proposed one-time 5% levy on billionaires, which voters will consider in November. Online commentary has questioned his stance on generational wealth in light of his family's financial activities. Former Republican candidate for mayor of Los Angeles, Spencer Pratt, has also criticized Khanna's positions.

Beyond his stock market activities, Khanna's wealth has reportedly facilitated significant purchases. He is reported to own a luxury home in Washington, D.C., valued at $6 million, and his children hold substantial ownership stakes in three private golf clubs in Ohio. The congressman's stock trades are reportedly managed through a trust held by his wife, Ritu Khanna. ![Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna of California, in a blue suit and patterned blue tie, appears on "Meet the Press."]( "Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna of California, in a blue suit and patterned blue tie, appears on "Meet the Press."
