Rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson, is scheduled to perform at a private event hosted by Donald Trump Jr. at his members-only club, Executive Branch, in Washington, D.C. The event, which precedes Independence Day celebrations, will also feature performances by Timbaland and Ja Rule, according to insiders cited by The Daily Beast.
Trump Jr. co-owns Executive Branch with Christopher Buskirk and Omeed Malik of 1789 Capital. The club has become a venue frequented by figures associated with the Trump administration, including White House AI adviser David Sacks, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and State Department Under Secretary Jacob Helberg.
Last November, the venue hosted an afterparty for Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, attended by Donald Trump Jr., his wife Bettina Trump, Fox News personalities Bret Baier and Laura Ingraham, and Senators Ashley Moody and Dave McCormick.
This performance marks a potential shift for 50 Cent, who previously declined a $3 million offer to perform at a rally for former President Donald Trump in Madison Square Garden in 2024. At the time, the artist expressed caution about engaging in political matters, stating in an interview with The Breakfast Club that involvement in politics could lead to confusion and negatively impact earning potential, referencing Kanye West's situation.
In 2019, 50 Cent also reportedly turned down a $500,000 offer to perform at President Trump's 2017 inauguration, emphasizing that not all financial opportunities are worthwhile. He stated, "every dollar is not a good dollar."
The planned performance at Executive Branch comes amid challenges for The Great American State Fair's Freedom 250 concert series, which is affiliated with President Trump. Several artists, including Morris Day, the Commodores, Martina McBride, Milli Vanilli, C+C Music Factory, and Young MC, withdrew from recent events in that series due to potential political controversies.
