Kirill Dmitriev, the envoy, attended the event at the invitation of first lady Melania Trump and thanked her for her "distinguished humanitarian role" in securing the ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
Dmitriev stated that Putin personally issued instructions for the operation and conveyed his thanks to Melania Trump. The ceasefire, signed on October 23, was celebrated at the event, which included officials from both Russia and Ukraine.
