Police returned to the Chester, New Jersey, home of Brooke Hanlon on Wednesday, months after the mother was found stabbed to death in the residence. The investigation into her death remains ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
Neighbors reported seeing at least 15 law-enforcement vehicles at the home on Pottersville Road until late Wednesday evening. Brooke Hanlon's husband, Conor Hanlon, was observed speaking with police at the scene. He has previously denied any involvement in his wife's death.
Brooke Hanlon was discovered unresponsive in her home, prompting a 911 call from her husband. Audio from the call revealed Conor Hanlon telling the operator, "There's a laceration" on his wife's body while being guided through CPR instructions. He can be heard saying, "I need you here. I need you here immediately."
An autopsy released weeks prior confirmed that Hanlon died from "sharp force injuries," ruling her death a homicide. The Morris County Prosecutor's Office has stated it has no updates on the investigation.
Since the incident, neighbors have observed Conor Hanlon visiting the home frequently, sometimes staying overnight. He had previously divided his time between Chester and the Boston area. Brooke Hanlon's family has expressed confidence in the ongoing investigation by law enforcement.
