The hosts of the "Pod Save America" podcast celebrated the Democratic Party's midterm election wins, describing the results as "the beginning of the end of the Trump era." Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer, and Tommy Vietor shared their reactions on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Tuesday night, following projections that Democrats would regain control of Congress.

When asked by Kimmel if any Trump administration officials would face repercussions, Vietor expressed optimism about the country's trajectory. "I think that tonight is the beginning of the end of the Trump era in America," he stated.

Pfeiffer, who previously worked in the Obama administration during the 2010 midterms, recalled that election night as a difficult experience. He expressed a degree of satisfaction in anticipating a similar feeling for Trump staffers. "And I am going to enjoy every second of every Trump staffer feeling that way tomorrow," Pfeiffer said.

Despite the Democratic gains, former President Donald Trump asserted his intention to use his veto power against any legislation he opposes. "It's one of the stronger powers that a president has," Trump told Bret Baier of Fox News. "And they'll send over things that are insane and I'll veto them. And after a couple of months of vetoes, they'll go out, and they'll say, how do we get this stuff done? And we'll work together."

Trump also noted that he had already received calls from Democrats and highlighted his "power of veto" as a significant tool. "And the power of veto is, you know, it's impervious," he added.
