Perdita Weeks, known for her role as Juliet Higgins in the reboot of 'Magnum P.I.', has welcomed her first child at the age of 40. The actress shared the news on Instagram this week, posting a photo of herself holding her newborn in a sunlit studio.
Weeks, who has not revealed the name or sex of her child, also kept the identity of the father private. She captioned the announcement post, 'A minor adjustment, and normal programming may resume.'
The actress had surprised fans and friends with her pregnancy announcement in March, sharing a photo of her baby bump on social media with the caption, 'Working on my waistline.'
Her former 'Magnum P.I.' co-star Jordana Brewster congratulated her, as did British actors Tom Cullen and Laura Haddock.
Weeks has previously addressed rumors about her personal life. In 2019, she debunked persistent claims of being married to a man named Kit Frederiksen and having twin sons, stating on social media that she would likely remember such significant life events. Photos that circulated of the supposed husband were identified as American actor Ben Feldman, her co-star in the 2014 film 'As Above, So Below.'
Weeks, who began acting at age seven, has had a notable career. She appeared as Mary Boleyn in 'The Tudors' and Lydia Bennet in 'Lost in Austen'. Her role as the ex-MI6 agent Juliet Higgins in 'Magnum P.I.' from 2018 to 2024 became a fan favorite. The series ran for five seasons and concluded in January 2024. Weeks also directed an episode in the final season.
More recently, she appeared in the British crime drama 'The Gold' and had a role in Guy Ritchie's Apple TV film 'Fountain of Youth'. Weeks divides her time between the United States and the United Kingdom, maintaining a home in West Sussex.
