Paul Pelosi has been banned from driving for six months after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor hit-and-run charge. The 86-year-old husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was also sentenced to one year of probation and a 10-day work program.
Pelosi struck an unoccupied Tesla in Yountville on July 3 and then drove away, according to Napa County prosecutors. He pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor hit-and-run and making an unlawful turn as part of a deal announced by District Attorney Allison Haley.
Judge Scott R.L. Young imposed the maximum six-month driving ban allowed under California law. Pelosi must report for booking by November 20. He was also ordered to pay $11,191.14 in restitution to the vehicle's owner, along with court fines and fees.
This incident follows a previous driving offense in August 2022, when Pelosi pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DUI causing injury and received three years of probation for crashing his Porsche into a Jeep while driving over the legal limit in Napa County.
