The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has denied mistreating former Prime Minister and captain Imran Khan, who is currently imprisoned on corruption charges. The board was reportedly unhappy with Sky Sports' decision to broadcast an interview with Khan's sons, Suleiman and Kasim Khan, leading to a brief threat to delay the resumption of play during the second Test between Pakistan and England.

According to reports, the PCB complained to Sky Sports about the interview, during which the sons expressed fears for their father's life. Sky Sports delayed the broadcast of the interview, and the Pakistan team eventually took the field as scheduled. This incident highlights the sensitivity of the PCB to criticism related to government policy and the political climate surrounding Imran Khan.

Imran Khan, who served as Pakistan's prime minister from 2018 to 2022, remains a prominent figure in the country. He captained Pakistan in 48 Test matches between 1982 and 1992, leading the team to victory in the 1992 Cricket World Cup.

Recently, a letter signed by 21 former cricket captains from various countries, including England, Australia, India, New Zealand, and the West Indies, was sent to the current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The letter called for Imran Khan to receive adequate medical care while incarcerated.
