Olivia Attwood has opened up about her decision not to legally bind her marriage to footballer Bradley Dack, describing it as a "sham" in a recent interview with Cosmopolitan. Attwood, 35, stated that the couple, who split in January, did not sign legal papers for their wedding, which was broadcast by ITV. She explained that this decision was made due to "teething issues" that arose shortly after their 2023 ceremony, and to protect her financial assets.
"My sister said to me, 'If it was a man who was skeptical about their partner’s honesty, and they didn’t legally bind themselves to a person, everyone would be like, "Good for you, because she would’ve taken half your money."," Attwood told the magazine. "I did the same thing and they wanted to burn me at the f****** stake. Where would I be now [if we had signed?] It’s been hard enough untangling our lives."
Attwood revealed that she had been in a "grey area" with Dack for years, feeling blinded by her love for him until a realization prompted her to end their 12-year relationship. The turning point, she explained, was when she learned of his infidelity. "There was nowhere left for him to hide. As soon as I knew it had happened to me, I couldn’t stay. The only person I would be cheating is myself," she said.
She previously accused Dack of "cheating on her multiple times over 10 years" and detailed the emotional toll of covering up his actions. "I of course now feel like a f*****g idiot. (Especially as more things come to the surface) I never wanted to say any of this. I find the whole situation utterly humiliating," she wrote in a prior statement.
Attwood also confirmed her ongoing relationship with ITV, following reports of the broadcaster's displeasure over the wedding situation. She is currently in a relationship with Pete Wicks, with whom she gushed about their bond in the interview. Dack has recently been seen with his ex-girlfriend, Emily Molony, a situation Attwood commented on, calling Molony a "bench warmer" and "side piece."
Attwood had indicated she possessed "messy screenshots" to prove Dack had lied about his relationship with Molony, but her management reportedly advised her to be the "bigger person" and refrain from releasing the information. Despite the personal challenges, Attwood stated she is focused on her work, including filming shows, recording her podcast and radio show, and shooting campaigns.
