The New York City Police Department has released video footage of two individuals sought in connection with hate crime attacks on two Queens synagogues on July 16. The suspects are believed to have thrown bags of motor oil at the Young Israel of Jamaica Estates and the Young Israel of Holliswood.

The department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the individuals, who are wanted for two counts of hate crime criminal mischief. Property was damaged at both locations, according to the NYPD.

The released video footage originates from the incident at the Young Israel of Jamaica Estates. Officials have not yet commented on whether the two incidents are directly linked beyond the released video.

Following the attacks, community leaders from both synagogues expressed resilience. Rabbi Moshe Taub of Young Israel of Holliswood stated that the community would continue to worship and remain "proud Americans." Adam Orlow, president of Young Israel of Jamaica Estates, affirmed that the incident, while disturbing, would not intimidate the congregation. Rabbi Dov Lerner of Young Israel of Jamaica Estates remarked that such acts of hatred aim to create fear but will ultimately foster unity and strengthen the community through "dignity, faith and resilience."

One of the synagogues, Young Israel of Holliswood, had also been vandalized with feces, according to reports. The specific timeline and details surrounding this additional vandalism were not immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing, and the NYPD urges anyone with information to come forward.
