Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell, 43, of North Carolina, may have drowned after going missing on July 22 while on a trip to Grenada, according to her husband, Cailen Waddell.

New details indicate that Waddell was last seen in the water by a group of jet skiers who reportedly spoke with her for five to ten minutes, attempting to persuade her to leave the ocean. According to her husband's updates on the website FindLiz.com, Waddell responded to their efforts by saying, "I’m a good swimmer," and giving them a thumbs up.

The conversation with the jet skiers allegedly occurred around 5:30 p.m. on the day she was reported missing to the Royal Grenada Police Force. Cailen Waddell stated he is grieving his wife's absence and understands it is "incredibly likely she is gone." He is awaiting further clarity from the ongoing investigation.

Cailen Waddell traveled to Grenada two days after his wife's disappearance to join search efforts but returned to the U.S. a week later after the search proved unsuccessful. Surveillance footage from a nearby Airbnb reportedly shows a person appearing to be Waddell walking near a pool with a towel before entering the water off a dock and swimming out of frame.

Despite extensive search efforts by law enforcement, including drones, dive teams, and dogs, no trace of Waddell has been found. The Royal Grenada Police Force is still treating the case as a missing persons investigation. Cailen Waddell expressed that he would not be surprised if his wife were to reappear and that he would immediately travel to retrieve her.
