Carlos Abrahams, a 35-year-old restaurateur and father of seven from Charlotte, North Carolina, has died unexpectedly. His wife, Ronjera Abrahams, announced his death on Monday, sharing her grief on Facebook.
Abrahams was the owner of Crav’N Caribbean, a Jamaican restaurant and food truck in Charlotte. He also owned a hair salon and performed home decorating services. His wife described his passing as a profound loss, stating, "I will never be the same." She expressed the difficulty of navigating life without him while raising their children.
The couple had garnered media attention last year when Ronjera Abrahams gave birth to quadruplets in December 2024. The four newborns, Ariayah, Aniyah, Cayden, and Carter, spent 36 days in the NICU before returning home to join their three older siblings. The quadruplets are now 18 months old.
Reflecting on the quadruplet pregnancy, Ronjera Abrahams recalled her husband’s steadfast support. "What are we gonna do," she had asked him, to which he replied, "We're gonna take care of them."
Born in Jamaica, Carlos Abrahams was raised in Delaware. He met his wife as a teenager, and they married in 2010 while he was serving in the Marine Corps. His military service led them to North Carolina, where they settled in Charlotte with their first child. Abrahams' passion for cooking was inspired by his mother, leading him to establish his restaurant business.
Friends and colleagues remembered Abrahams as a devoted husband and father, a provider, and a problem-solver. Hunter Brawley, a colleague, told WCNC that Abrahams was "more than just a business owner, he was a friend to so many in our community." A post promoting a fundraiser for his family described him as an entrepreneur who "brought flavor and passion to the community."
Details surrounding the circumstances of Carlos Abrahams' death have not been publicly disclosed.
