Multiple U.S. Navy sailors have reportedly attempted to jump overboard from the USS Abraham Lincoln due to extended deployment in the Middle East. The aircraft carrier has approximately 5,000 sailors and Marines aboard, who have been deployed for over eight months.

Their scheduled return in May was postponed indefinitely amid ongoing conflict with Iran. This prolonged deployment has led to burnout among some service members, prompting desperate measures.

One sailor's wife, Annabelle Loma, stated that her husband, who had faced repeated extensions, attempted to jump. He is currently on medical hold, and Loma has not received updates on his condition for weeks. She expressed concern that his career could be jeopardized by the incident, stating, "He thinks he'll get a dishonorable discharge and just because he was burnt out, his 13-year career is ruined, just like that. That's not fair."

In a separate incident, another sailor reportedly intervened when a shipmate was seen preparing to go overboard, according to the sailor's wife, Maria Rodriguez.
