Actor Michael Shannon has married photographer Christy Bush in Athens, Georgia, it has been exclusively revealed. The couple obtained a marriage license on July 27, with the license since being returned to the county court awaiting a judge's signature.
Sources indicate the wedding ceremony took place in Bush's hometown and was attended by "famous friends and industry people." Representatives for Shannon and Bush did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The timeline for when Shannon, 52, and Bush, 55, began their relationship or became engaged remains unclear, though they have been seen together at public events. In October 2025, they visited the Pasaquan art compound near Buena Vista, Georgia, and in January, they attended the Hermès autumn/winter 2026 men’s runway show during Paris Fashion Week.
This marriage marks a second for both individuals. Shannon was previously married to theater actress Kate Arrington. The pair, who met through the Chicago theater scene in 2002, married in New York in 2017 and quietly divorced in 2022. They share two daughters: Sylvia, born in 2008, and Marion, born in 2014. The last public sighting of Shannon with Arrington was in November 2024.
