Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has expressed excitement over a surprise Daytime Emmy nomination for her axed Netflix lifestyle series, "With Love, Meghan." The nomination comes nearly eight years after she reportedly declined an invitation to the awards ceremony.

"A huge congratulations to the amazing crew, producers, and team who worked on 'With Love, Meghan' on Netflix," Markle wrote on Instagram. "We are nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lifestyle Series."

The Duchess launched the series on Netflix in March 2025, coinciding with the unveiling of her lifestyle brand, As Ever. A second season and a Christmas special followed, featuring cooking lessons and hosting tips from a rented mansion near her Montecito home. However, the show received largely negative reviews and failed to rank among Netflix's top 1,000 most-watched programs.

Eight years ago, following her marriage into the Royal Family, Markle reportedly declined an invitation to the Emmy Awards, a decision sources described as drawing a "line in the sand" between her acting career and her new life as a royal. At the time, show executives had hoped she might attend to bid farewell to her "Suits" fans and colleagues.

While Markle had been considered for an Emmy for her role in "Suits," she was never nominated. Now, she is a contender in the Outstanding Lifestyle Programme category for her Netflix series, which featured guests such as Mindy Kaling, Tan France, and Chrissy Teigen across its two seasons.

"With Love, Meghan" will compete against NBC's "George to the Rescue" and Hallmark's "The Motherhood." The series was part of Meghan and Prince Harry's multi-year contract with Netflix, reportedly worth over $100 million. Despite its Emmy nomination, the show was axed in January 2026 following criticism of its Christmas special.

In March, Markle separated from Netflix and assumed full control of her As Ever brand. Insiders suggested she felt the streaming service was too "cautious" and that she aimed for a more global reach. The couple later signed a new first-look deal with Netflix through their Archewell Productions.

Separately, Meghan's appearance as a guest judge on "MasterChef Australia" is scheduled to be broadcast later this month. She filmed the segment during a visit to Australia with Prince Harry, stating her love for food and Australia as reasons for her participation. The episode will air on Channel 10, with contestants challenged to create a dish fit for a Duchess.
