Philadelphia police are seeking a masked individual who allegedly chased and threatened several people near City Hall on Wednesday, according to authorities.
The suspect, described as a Black male between 16 and 20 years old, approximately 5'8" tall, wore a white baby doll-style Halloween mask with black hair and carried a black-and-blue plaid backpack.
Police reported that the man approached multiple individuals, including a 40-year-old woman to whom he allegedly said, "Are you ready to die." The woman attempted to flee, fell, and sustained injuries, police stated. The suspect also reportedly filmed himself with a cell phone during the incidents.
Officials said the man fled the area and entered a train station after the alleged assaults. He was refused service at a Dunkin Donuts due to his mask and displayed erratic behavior before leaving the establishment.
Philadelphia Police Captain Jason Smith indicated that the suspect "was able to accost a good many of people, most of which haven't come forward yet." Surveillance footage captured the masked suspect chasing a woman on foot near City Hall.
Charges are anticipated to include felony terroristic threats, harassment, simple assault, and reckless endangerment.
